The CFA parts of the high school “Jules Rieffel” has received grants of the region to support the trip and to be sure to help student to finance the travel. Wonderful experience to be able to implement its future business in a context of mutual aid, in a different human culturel, but also to work with the most rudimentary techniques that exist on site!

These students will be accompanied by 4 supervisors. The trio has started construction of the ponds last summer and will hit the winding roads of Mateur (the director of the association PANI -PJ Rondeau- Secretary -P. Alliot- teachers to the CFA Jules Rieffel, J. Boche, active volunteer, and landscaper. JM André -deputy director of the CFA- will be add to the team to supplement the framework and lend support to this wonderful project.

Setting up the project in India

01 août 2009

Hello
Since early July a team of 3 members of the association have travelled to Mateur in order to initiate concrete projet. In the first time a major sensibilisation work has been done so that the local citizen are totally involved. the aim is to take back and they themselves manage those ponds.
First success: the area we should be hired, finally another field is available for free so the benefits of that is understood by the citizen to our long-term project.
The ponds have also begun to be dug, hard work on very steep terrain. The village is not accessible by road (half hours to climb. It is the village people who ensures the transportation of the goods into the village. That's work is so difficult that the transportation of heavy material is limited. Normaly that's work will be perfomed by the students, next summer (the students of the Jules Rieffel Professional Hight school are involved in the project).
The wext news will come at the end of the summer after the landing of the French team actually in india.

See you very soon

What is PANI?

Hello,
PANI (= water Indi) aims to develop a partnership between the Association, schools, communities and the village of Matéura (India) to implement projects in a sustainable development approach.
Specifically, this project in India is to create ponds of water purification plants to give water autonomy to the citizen of Mateur (village of about 130 inhabitants of the northern mountains of India.)
The village has tape water since two years but they don't have any infrastructure to receive and treat the wastewater. So, the wastewater is going to the fields and the river. wastewater becomes an urgent problem to preserve the environment and quality of the people life.
The aim is to learn to the local population to manage themself those ponds of water purification plants. Partnership with residents is indispensable. We will an important work about make the population to be aware of the natural water purification, but to organize the waste treatment with for example the establishment of garbage...
Pani is in contact with several partners (See the information paper) like the professional high shcool « Jules Rieffel ». This water purifcation is tested in a first time on a Guérande site by the student of BPA (Agricultural Professional Patent) AFC.
